Gravy

1 cup water

1 tablespoons nutritional yeast

2 teaspoons tamari sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon poultry seasoning herb blend

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 Tablespoon cornstarch

1/2 Tablespoon whole wheat flour

1/4 cup water

Bring the top group of ingredients to a boil, combine the cornstarch, whole-wheat flour and water together and pour into boiling broth, stir until thickened. If it doesn't thicken enough just do another cornstarch, whole-wheat flour and water and pour it in until desired consistency.

Vegetarian Gravy

INGREDIENTS
1/3 cup chopped onion
5 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup all-purpose or whole wheat flour
4 teaspoons nutritional yeast
4 tablespoons low sodium tamari sauce (soy sauce)
2 cups vegetable broth (I use vegetable bullion)
1/2 teaspoon dried sage
salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS
Over medium heat sauté onion and garlic in small amount of water until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in flour, nutritional yeast, and soy sauce to form a smooth paste. Gradually whisk in the broth. Season with sage. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer, stirring constantly, for 8 to 10 minutes, or until thickened.
